The Tenino Area Chamber of Commerce and Tenino Arts will host the sixth annual Tenino Arts Spring Market at the historic Kodiak Room on March 13, 14, and 15.

This year’s market integrates a piece of local history into the shopping experience. On Sunday, March 15, the first 200 shoppers will receive a freshly printed $1 Tenino Wooden Scrip. The unique currency features Tenino Stone Carvers Guild master stone cutter Keith Phillips and is spendable at the market and participating local businesses.

“The wooden scrip is a beloved part of Tenino’s heritage, and we are thrilled to integrate it into this year’s celebration of local artistry,” said Cheryl Pearce, president of the Tenino Area Chamber of Commerce. “We are excited to announce this new addition for Sunday shoppers.”

The market is known for its curated retail store format. Unlike traditional markets where artisans man individual booths, the Spring Market is organized into a seamless shopping environment. All purchases are processed at a single central location managed by the Tenino Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and volunteers.

Event highlights include:

  • Diverse Artistry: 36 regional artisans showcasing pottery, glass, metal, wood, fiber, stone, leather, soaps, candles, and fine art.
  • Gourmet Treats: A selection of savory and sweet items, plus complimentary coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and apple cider.
  • Live Entertainment: Performances by Ross Robinson and James Sillanpaa (Friday); Shamrock and James Sillanpaa (Saturday); and Bill Lenker (Sunday).

The market will be held at the Kodiak Room, located at 225 Sussex Ave. SW, Tenino, WA 98589. Doors are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and admission is free to the public.
