Enjoy the color and sparkle of the annual Lewis County Holiday Tour of Lights Friday, December 16. In addition to decorated holiday trees on the main floor and basement of the Historic Lewis County Courthouse, music fills the courthouse. Many county departments in the courthouse and Law and Justice Center on Main Street, and at the Lewis County Public Services building on Kresky Avenue in Chehalis display the spirit of the season.

133rd Washington Army National Guard Band.

The 133rd Washington Army National Guard Band from Camp Murray will perform inside the historic courthouse from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday.

“As many as seven members of the band are slated to play here,” said Lewis County Risk Management and Human Resources Director Amber Smith, who also plays as a guest in the band along with her husband, 133rd Staff Sgt. Brian Smith. “They’ll play a variety of holiday music, everything from Jingle Bells to the Huron Carol, and people can definitely sing along.”

“It’s something the public will really enjoy,” Lewis County Community Development Director Lee Napier said. Napier and Josh Metcalf, Lewis County Public Works Director, came up with the idea of the Tour of Lights in 2018. County office displays are judged, and the best decorated receives the annual “Notable Nutcracker” award. In 2021, the Nutcracker award went to Lewis County Public Health & Social Services.
