Lewis County Public Health & Social Services (LCPHSS) has created two guidance documents to help employers prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The “Employer Symptom Decision Tree” is a single-page graphic employers can use to screen all employees for potential COVID-19 symptoms or exposure. The page shows symptoms grouped by low- or high-risk. Depending on an employee’s symptoms and exposure to someone with COVID-19, the page shows recommendations for sending home, staying home, and seeking medical care.

A companion document titled, “COVID-19 Return-to-Work Guidance for Employers” offers general guidance for determining when diagnosed or exposed employees can safely return to work, along with answers to frequently asked questions and links to more COVID-19 resources.

LCPHSS Deputy Director John Abplanalp said, “These were created to help employers make informed decisions to operate as safely as possible. However, these are guides and not intended to replace a clinician’s judgment. Diagnosis and treatment should be supervised by a clinician.”

Both documents can be downloaded as .pdfs at https://phsscovid19.lewiscountywa.gov/.
