At the May 23rd, Washington Association of School Administrators Awards dinner, Ed Rothlin, Superintendent of Chehalis School District, and Mary Lou Bissett, Assistant Superintendent, each accepted Student Achievement Leadership Awards for Region 113.

“We were proud to accept these awards on behalf of our School Board and our teaching staff. Without the leadership of the Board and the hard work and commitment of our teachers, these awards would not have been achieved,” stated Superintendent Rothlin.

The Student Achievement Leadership Award recognizes leadership in the implementation of innovative programs that result in measurable improvement of student achievement. The District is now in its 4th year of it Student Achievement Initiative – IMPROVE student achievement through improving instructional practices in the classroom, MODERNIZE instructional practices through
staff development and technology to enhance instructional practices, PREPARE students for beyond high school through career and/or college readiness (aware, eligible and prepared = ready).

Rothlin also thanked the Washington Association of School Administrators “for recognizing the team effort throughout our district toward our students’ educational achievements.”
