Nothing can ruin a day quicker than a cracked or broken window on your vehicle. The owners of Hub City Auto Glass in Centralia, Sean and Maritza Percival, know just how busy life can be. They juggle kids, a home-based business and recently a new pug named Titan. Their own juggling acts makes them sympathetic to their clients – they understand that time and convenience are paramount for their busy clients.

“If the need is there, we will do it,” says Sean. “I’ve driven all the way to Vancouver to help a current client out. If someone has an emergency on a Saturday, or in the evening, we do everything we can to get out and fix it so they can be on their way.”

This dedication to their clients is why they push themselves to provide next-day service, almost every single time. And they’re quick about repairs too: a broken window takes just about 30 minutes, a crack can take just 15 minutes.

One woman needed help and she worked all week – her only free day was Saturday. In between soccer games, Sean ran to Yelm to replace her windshield that had broken after she hit a deer. While it may seem like a small thing, to the woman with the broken window, it was everything.

Although Hub City just opened in January 2016, Sean has almost 20 years of glass repair experience with both local and national companies under his belt. He knows glass, and as his wife points out, it’s not an easy job.

“I tried to help once,” Maritza says. “It’s hard. The glass is heavy. You’re out in the weather – rain, heat, ice – you have to be careful to not break the glass or cut someone’s car with your tools. It takes special skill.”

Sean is so confident in his skills, that he has a no-nonsense lifetime warranty on all his services. He stands behind his work 100 percent and won’t dispute you if you do come to him with something that is covered under the warranty.

Replacing glass is truly an artisan craft that takes not only amazing skill, but also the right materials. Hub City Auto Glass uses only the highest quality glass and urethane. They don’t cut costs just to save on overhead. Because of this, Sean has not had anyone call in a warranty – the work they do lasts. This quality craftsmanship and materials comes at a price, but not the one you think.

“For example, you could go to our competitor for a new windshield for your Ford Truck and it would cost you around $375 to $400,” Sean explains. “We would charge $190 to $200 plus tax.”

In addition to fantastic prices, Sean and his team will help you if you need assistance filing an insurance claim or if you are not sure what kind of work you really need done. Sean explains that for him, business is about more than just making a “quick buck.” It’s about making sure the customers are happy and come back to Hub City again.

Recently, they had a 16-year-old kid who called asking if they could reseal the glass on a 1979 Camaro. When Sean went out to look at it, however, he could see the original job had been done really poorly and the only way to fix it was to pull the glass out and put it back in after fixing the problem. Sean opted to tell the boy the truth rather than just slapping more sealer on top, knowing it would probably still leak and need a major repair later for more money.

“It’s a 16-year-old kid. Whatever he had, I knew he didn’t have much and he had probably been saving for a long time for that car,” Sean says. “So instead I told him to call me when he wanted to put a new windshield in or take this one out and fix it right. And he appreciated that.”

On the other hand, he had another costumer who wanted a new window and it was going to be a $400 job. Sean told the guy he could replace the glass if he really wanted him to, but really all it needed was to be resealed. This saved the customer close to $250.

To Hub City Auto Glass, going the extra mile is about more than just fixing windows. They are actively involved in the community as well. The company sponsors Centralia Little League and Sean coaches one of the baseball teams, The Titans. He’s been coaching for over 15 years. In addition, he coached an all-star team, which made history by being the first 9-10’s to win districts. Maritza does her part too. She is on the board of the Little League Baseball. She also helped out with the Centralia School Supply Drive, marketing for them as well as collecting supplies.

Hub City Auto Glass services all of Lewis, Thurston and Grays Harbor, with no extra travel charge. To contact them call 360-508-5231 or visit the Hub City Auto Glass Facebook Page.
