Astrophysicist Ethan Siegel will speak about his book and research. Siegel wrote the book Beyond the Galaxy: How Humanity Looked Beyond Our Milky Way and Discovered the Entire Universe. One reviewer describes the book’s contents as “all the facts without the equations … the big bang theory … the formation of matter …, dark matter, dark energy, and briefly mentions the multiverse.”

The 4th Annual Southwest Washington Writers Conference will feature two keynote speakers, 18 writing workshops, and networking opportunities for local professional and aspiring writers. Keynoters include award-winning authors Robert Dugoni and Mike Lawson. Dugoni is the New York Times bestselling author of the Tracy Crosswhite series and the critically acclaimed David Sloane series. Lawson, a former senior civilian executive for the U.S. Navy, is creator of the nine novels in the Joe DeMarco series as well as the Kay Hamilton novels.
Join us as we recognize and remember all who served during the Vietnam conflict. This years event will be very special as our guest speaker will be; Ray “Doc” Padre Johnson, one the highest decorated Navy Chaplain in American history.
Join us on Veterans Day, November 11, 2017 for a Fun Run and Health Walk to honor our military, first responders, police officers, and firefighters! A portion of the proceeds benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Open to all ages
Learn about George Washington, African American founder of Centralia, who created his own “decent place” by founding a town, providing churches and a park, and nurturing the people of his town. The program will be hosted by Brian Mittge and Kerry Serl, authors of George Washington of Centralia.
