This community events calendar is the place to find fun activities and things to do throughout Lewis County, including Centralia, Chehalis and beyond.
This fall the Centralia Timberland Library is hosting a museum exhibit on loan from the Karshner Memorial Museum in Puyallup, WA. Drop in for dedicated viewing times on Mondays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and Wednesdays from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM September 4th through October 9th.
This exhibit – titled “We’re Still Here” The Survival of Washington Indians – presents issues, challenges and successes that Washington Indians have experienced through the years in Washington State. It highlights the conflicts over land, identity, sovereignty, fish and cultural preservation. The exhibit also shows how tribes are successfully passing on the culture to future generations. The exhibit was created with the advice and input of tribal leaders and authorities from around the state.
This program is part of Timberland Reads Together, featuring “There There” by Tommy Orange and Native Voices, focused on Indigenous Peoples history and culture.

Make your own boat and test out its sea-worthiness in our fountain! Younger children will enjoy testing objects at our sink or float station.
Living Historian Beverly York will present Friendship Quilts, how the pioneers moving west would take a part of their friends and family history with them. Volunteer Coordinator Sara Light-Waller will show how to put a signature on the quilt block, as they did in the mid-19th century.
Join other book lovers for coffee and a chat about books. No assigned reading! You pick! Share what you’ve been reading lately and hear from others about what they’ve been reading. Discussion facilitated by Chehalis Timberland Library Staff.
Karaoke Party Place in conjunction with JB and Debbie are presenting a night of Karaoke fun and DJ Dance jams from 9:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. come down and join the fun. Food and Drink specials. It’s always a party when Karaoke Party Place shows up

Join in a series of book discussions exploring Native American and indigenous peoples’ history and culture through novels, nonfiction and memoir. This month, we will discuss “Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants” by Robin Wall Kimmerer.
