The Chehalis-Centralia Railroad is going green with shamrocks on March 14 and 15. Two new events are being offered this year as the railroad encourages you to enjoy a two-hour excursion in the vintage 1920s dining car through the Chehalis River Valley to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
The 5:00 p.m. event on both Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15, begins with some fun and games and of course green beer! You will be ushered to your table by our event hostesses where you will then enjoy a four-course dinner. As Irish tradition dictates, you can select from your choice of Corned Beef and Cabbage, Irish Stew in a Bread Bowl, or Roast Chicken and Irish Potatoes or a pasta vegetarian option. You will place your order when you make the reservations online. The two-hour round trip excursion is sure to bring out the Irish in you, so wear your green to keep the leprechauns away. The cost is $65 for adults and $35 for children 3-13 years old.
A Shamrock Family Friendly Train excursion is set for Sunday afternoon on March 15 at 1:00 p.m. Kids and adults are encouraged to dress up to win a prize for the best “Green Gear.” There will be games and maybe a leprechaun or two may appear! Refreshments are served, and of course, they’ll be green too! The cost is $20 per person.
The train departs the Chehalis Centralia Train Depot located at 1101 SW Sylvenus Street in Chehalis. Reservations must be made four days prior to the departure date. This new excursion is limited to 60 persons per ride, so make your reservations now. More details and reservations are available on our website at SteamTrainRide.com.
