Join caregivers from Providence and the Centralia Rotary for a free night of information, fun and food Thursday, Sept. 27, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Centralia College’s Transalta Hall.

This is the sixth year the Rotary and Providence have teamed to provide a community health night. This year will focus on:

  • Healthy food and lifestyle choices
  • Why communication and relationships are important to your health
  • Health screenings/questions for your doctor
  • Local cancer services

It’s a fact of life that certain health challenges such as cancer come with age. Your best defense is knowledge – and partnering with a primary care provider for prevention and support.

Come early to enjoy snacks and beverages, and visit booths for information.

Featured food for the evening will be prepared by Providence Registered Dieticians – and you’ll be able to take home the recipes to help start creating healthy lifestyle ideas for yourself:

  • Smoked Salmon Dill Capers Crostini
  • Zucchini “Sushi” Rolls
  • Polenta-Olive Tapenade Bites
  • Entree
  • Cilantro Lime Roasted Chicken
  • Mashed Potato with Beets
  • Balsamic Parmesan Roasted Asparagus and Tomato

For the sixth year, snacks, beverages and accommodations provided by Centralia cancer survivor Arnie Guenther and the Centralia Rotary, via Prostate Health Awareness Through Education (PHATE). Former keynote speakers have including former Major League Baseball player Lyle Overbay, retired Seattle Seahawk Mack Strong and comedians Mack Dryden, Karen Mills and Susan Sparks.
